SECTION 2 - SERVER RULES
The included specifications are to inform players as to what is expected while in the city. The core components to our immersive-style roleplay. Please read through the entire rule set to best understand what is expected of you while connected.
- Communication
- North American server. Must speak and understand English at all times.
- Microphone without background noise, and push-to-talk enabled. Voice changers are acceptable, but must remain understandable.
- Remain in-character at all times, and avoid immersion-breaking language such as "cousin," "scuffed," or "grinding." This insinuates a video game, and infringes upon those who take roleplay seriously.
- Character Profile
- Names should be unique and authentic, not created from an existing real-world individual.
- Characters shouldn't be "siblings" or "cousins" to an existing character you play.
- Create characters with depth, faults, and emotions. Actively seek roleplay, be creative, and make your character unique.
- Do not create "clone" characters that consistently share identical appearance, features, or repeat the same actions as your other characters.
- Power Gaming
- Forcing players down a single path with no option to roleplay. Generally rooted in a "play-to-win" mentality, which denies creative roleplay.
- Robbing players at a bank and forcing them to turn over all of their money.
- Killing players who have complied with your demands.
- Dropping unconscious players off in a location not accessible to emergency services.
- Forcing players down a single path with no option to roleplay. Generally rooted in a "play-to-win" mentality, which denies creative roleplay.
- Meta Gaming
- Using information obtained out of character, that in-character should not be known, and applying it in roleplay. Do not act on any information that your character hasn't directly learned in-game through active RP.
- Use of external communications like Discord must also be relayed in character for use in RP.
- Transferring assets between your own characters.
- Viewing of other players' live streams while actively engaged in roleplay scenarios is prohibited.
- Using information obtained out of character, that in-character should not be known, and applying it in roleplay. Do not act on any information that your character hasn't directly learned in-game through active RP.
- Combat Logging
- The act of intentionally disconnecting from the server during or leading up to an active roleplay scene to avoid an interaction or consequence is strictly prohibited.
- Value Life
- Players should roleplay consideration for the potential outcomes of their actions, despite game mechanics not always enforcing the best responses. One of the quickest ways to ruin RP (besides speaking OOC) is to downplay a serious situation, such as being held at gunpoint or being physically threatened.
- If you have a gun pointed at you, then you are expected to obey the player, and vice versa. This rule is maintained because the lack of fear RP could be chaotic and hinder roleplay.
- Perma death is decided by the player of the character alone.
- Perma death will result in the termination of said character and forfeiture of all of their assets and belongings.
- Players should roleplay consideration for the potential outcomes of their actions, despite game mechanics not always enforcing the best responses. One of the quickest ways to ruin RP (besides speaking OOC) is to downplay a serious situation, such as being held at gunpoint or being physically threatened.
- Quality RP
- You are expected to roleplay to a good standard at all times, and put time, effort, and thought into the actions that you portray. The decisions and actions that you make should be logical and in-keeping with the character that you play.
- The use of weaponry should be proportionate to the situation and used as a last resort. Your roleplay must be clear to understand with a focus on giving as much detail as possible.
- Death Match (RDM, VDM)
- All acts of violence may only be carried out when an attempt to communicate verbally, or clear initiation between parties, is made. This is recognized as roleplay over gunplay. Additionally, harming or incapacitating a character using a vehicle without any form of prior initiation through roleplay, and/or leaving the scene without roleplay provided to the victim, is strictly prohibited.
- Gunplay Over Roleplay
- We encourage players to prioritize roleplay and storyline development over shootouts and violence. Shooting another player should be a last resort, or used as a way to conclude a storyline. Players should engage in meaningful interactions with other players before resorting to shootouts. Conflict RP is great, but shooting another player should not be used lightly, as a means to end an ongoing storyline or to avoid roleplay interactions.
- Revenge
- All acts of violence may only be carried out when an attempt to communicate verbally, or clear initiation between parties, is made. This is recognized as roleplay over gunplay. Additionally, harming or incapacitating a character using a vehicle without any form of prior initiation through roleplay, and/or leaving the scene without roleplay provided to the victim, is strictly prohibited.
